We currently have a full time position available for an experienced Medical Assistant in Crestwood. This position will have some evening and weekend hours. Certification through NCCT, AMT or AAMA highly desired.
Under the direction of the Physician and/or Supervisor/Manager, provides clinical support at the necessary medical facilities in direct patient care and history taking. Screens calls and takes messages on clinical issues. Relates with physician and staff as needed to provide comprehensive clinical support to the physician. Provides information to patient in order to facilitate the patient/physician relationship. Documents information in EMR. Maintains environment characterized by trust, acceptance, recognition, and respect. Complies with safety and emergency procedures consistent with policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned by management as department goals and workload require, successfully multitasking.
The position will have a wide range of access to protected health information (“PHI") and understands the importance of confidentiality regarding all patient information pursuant to HIPAA policies and procedures.
Must be willing to travel to other offices as needed.
Successful completion of an accredited medical assistant program. Certification through NCCT, AMT or AAMA highly desired.
2-3 years of experience in a health care setting, preferably family medicine that encompasses pediatric and adult care.
Proficiency in CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding process. Knowledge of referral process.
