Join the hospital trusted by Chicago’s Southland, Ingalls Memorial Hospital, in this role as a Certified Tumor Registrar in the Cancer Registry department.
The Certified Tumor Registrar collects data regarding cancer identification, treatment, and follow-up on each eligible cancer patient. Enters and maintains patient computer data to ensure conformance to cancer registry operational standards. Participates in special studies and projects including the Oncology Care Model (OCM).
Ability to read, understand and apply the appropriate guidelines for cancer abstracting; ability to accurately abstract and stage information from the various components of patient medical records; ability to understand and code medical records; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to effectively use computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software; thoroughness; sound judgment; tact; discretion; initiative; and accuracy. Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) required.
Preferred Skills:Registered Health Information (R.H.I.T.) Certificate desirable.
