Ingalls Home Care - Director, Clinical Services
The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for leading the skilled clinical services in Homecare. The Director manages all clinical services including nursing, physical, occupational and speech/language pathology, social work and home health aide services. The Director promotes the standards for quality patient care in accordance with agency standards, objectives, policies and procedures. The Director also ensures and coordinates the provision of comprehensive, holistic, and family centered care to patients and family members. The position partners with the Executive Administrator to establish clinical care protocols and to provide direction and support to clinicians.
Manages all direct patient/client services provided by clinical staff personnel, including supervisors, RNs, physical therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, speech and language pathologists and home health aide specialists.
Assists the Executive Administrator in the preparation of the annual budget for clinical services and ensures services operate within the approved budget parameters. Assists the Executive Administrator in preparing and interpreting operation indicators and variances to detect increases or decreases in volume, which could impact staffing levels, revenues, or expenses.
Assures that Ingalls Home Care and Hospice service lines operate within all federal and state and regulatory body/agency (JCAHO) guidelines. Maintains positive relations with patient referral sources and outside community resources. With the Executive Administrator, determines appropriate staffing levels and participates in the hiring and orientation process. Implements and maintains recordkeeping systems, statistical reporting systems, program documentation, planning and evaluation. Provides ongoing supervision of clinical services between RN case managers and nursing staff. Ensures supervisory staff are meeting service requirements and performance expectations through routine case conferences, field supervisory visits, and coordination of care. Participates in utilization review of clinical records to ensure compliance with agency policy and procedures. Provides leadership in the development of objectives, standards of care, policies and procedures affecting Home Care and Hospice. Maintains regular oversight and analysis of supply use, mileage, visit and non-visit time for agency staff members.
